Eliphas was no Greek God, he was a french occultist, and he didn't took this name from greek, it was a transliteration of his name (Alphonse) to Hebrew.
Also, of course he didn't created Chimaera, and Chimaera has no linking to Alchemy in ancient times. The Chimaera was one of the offsprings of Echidna (it may be Ceto, I don't recall correctly, but almost every monster is a offspring of one of those)
You know, ECHIDNA =/= ELIPHAS, these are very DIFFERENT NAMES
