>>28155067I'd go for XY because you may as well enjoy a fresh brand new region and one of the best regional pokedexes (upwards of around 400 pkmn to catch even before E4). The first half of XY was solid and a lot of fun. The pacing falls off and the region itself feels disjointed past badge 4, and the story is one of the worst in the series, but it's still a fun game.
I'd turn off the EXP Share though. And if you care about the dress up feature at all, play as a girl, since guys get very few good options.
ORAS is okay I guess but it feels like a very lazy remake when compared to HGSS, I do agree with the anon that says it's just an improved RS that has none of the benefits of Emerald. Dexnav was fucking awesome but I just feel like overall XY was more fun. Gen 3 was one of my least favorites though, which influences my decision.
