His toughest Pokemon is Drapion, which is also the highest level Pokemon he has in the Elite Four fight.

Also, almost all Bug specialists are early game characters or early gyms, so he's the only 'strong' late game bug user.

Personally i do count Alder as Bug Champion+ just like Steven is Steel champion that uses other types or Iris and Lance are Dragon and use other types.

Alder is clearly bug oriented though he uses other mons

Blame the retard who decided Drapion should be Poison/Dark instead of Bug/Dark, when we already have Poison/Dark with Skuntank.

I swear there's always that one faggot at Game Freak that wants to introduce a unique typing for a generation only to lower it's uniqueness by randomly slapping it onto another Pokémon. I'm looking at you, Cacturne.

Bugsy is just a gym leader, not an Elite Four member.

Though Bugsy's team in BW2 is way better than anything this guy could pull out.

We need World Tournament with not only Gym Leaders and Champions, but also Elite Four members, this way it would be more fair to compare their teams.
Although I'm pretty sure Aaron is still the strongest Bug trainer at least lore-wise.

Why? Drapion is literally only weak to ground moves, and its tanky as fuck.

Add bug, and you open it being weak to fire AND flying as well.

And Alder's PWT team has only one Bug (Volcarona).

It's kind of a shame that this is a cool conceptual idea that players never really have going for them

Thats how I've always seen megas, and its one of the reasons why I like them so much. The idea of an ace you build your team around and that is the pokemon you rely on to clutch victories and such is a very neat concept

It'd be nice to see someone else with a legendary for once that isn't the antagonist. But then I get that the idea is that there is only one of each legendary and they all have to be left open for the player to obtain.

Yeah but it didn't really work though since most Megas are just statistically better versions of their base form and perform the exact same role, and the Megas are so ludicrously unbalanced with the small few at the top shitting on the lesser ones.

If they'd had more of an angle to them rather than just 'power up a random mon for free' then maybe they could've been good, but instead we got what we got.
