You can use evolved forms of said pokemon (for example, if one of your animals is a rattlesnake, you can use Ekans, but can as well choose Arbok despite it not being a rattlesnake anymore).
Also, if you want to be more specific you can google "animals of -your state/province/etc-".
Here is my result:

Since there is no pokemon even close to mole rat, I just chose Raticate because it has massive incisors like a mole rat and can learn Dig. And no lynx pokemon, but Purugly is a big cat with ear tufts, close enough.
