>>28164707Fucking hell you faggots get me so angry when you talk about art.
Concept art has no fucking consistent rules. It's anything goes as long as you get an idea for your work and final vision. Sometimes it's as easy as sketching out a simple two shots, other times you need more detail. Stop saying "B-But look at this art!" This shit has no rules. There is nothing that says "We have to do things this way."
We're also dealing with different artists and no artist ever really shares the same rules, and on top of that we only ever really see the art Gamefreak or the anime release to us. Which is generally the Pokemon in it's most final state of creation when the art becomes more crisp and cleaned up and you start to see art resembling reference sheets more than just regular concept art.
Released early designs are pretty limited. We don't even have a single piece of early art from gen VI, IV (Shellos is a gen III Pokemon that got scrapped and reused. He's all we have for IV), and the ones we have from gen V have been described in interviews. And our biggest sources are I and II with most of the II ones being scrapped from the demo version of the game. We pretty much only ever see final cleaned up pieces.
Also you stupid faggots reference sheets and concept art are two totally different things.
>>28163266This is a reference sheet. Concept art is often used as a blanket term but reference sheets serve an entirely different purpose. They give the people that need it a clear idea, concept art helps the artist work the design out.
That said the fact that it's not a reference sheet is a mark against it. It's pretty clear it's real leaked art because of Mallow, and the chinese leaks (That have been 100% right so far) naming them as a wrestler, siren, and archer. The amount of detail also suggests these are close to the final designs too.
