It's a mix of the toys, especially the ones where you can build your own shit, the cartoon, the characters having very simple expressions, and for trains in general it's because they follow a set path, usually on a schedule and make loud noises at set locations.
Autists fucking love schedules that almost never change, and it just so happens trains fit that bill.
