Ghost type has a great balance of cute and cool, and all of the designs are good.

Frillish and Jellicent were designed as pure water types, but someone at game freak realized we had enough of those already and slapped the Ghost type on them. Thank god for that, even if the designer wasn't exactly happy about it

Paralyze is pretty reliable, and it's got strong special moves to go with the high special attack Pokemon available. Electric types just never let me down.

Ghost is best. Both thematically and design-wise.

Other two favorites are Fairy and Ice. Fairy has a lot of parallels with Ghost and the Gen VII mons look promising.
