I don't mind this thing existing. But why does it need to have a different appearance?
I'm not saying the Alolan formes we have so far make sense. Meowth is how it is because it was selectively bred. Sandshrew and Sandslash adapted to their environments by taking on heavier, more camouflaged appearances.
This thing just becomes nocturnal and gets different fur and a mustache. I get the different color: to help blend in at night. But why did anything else change?
