So I checked the Nintendo E Shop today after the new trailer, but SM is not yet available for preorder. Could I get the preorder bonus (Munchlax) from preordering a physical copy or just wait for it to be available on E Shop?

It was "purchasing early," not preorders. They did the same thing with Torchic in XY.
