Looks like gamefreak fucked up big time. Only Water type crabs can learn Crabhammer. Crabrawler won't even get STAB from it but they'll still probably give it to him.

Doduo is based on a flightless bird yet it can fly. So why can't Crabrawler be Wwater type even though coconut crabs can't swim?

You have no idea who you're talking to, stupid. I spend vacation in the Caribbean and I've seen hermit crabs my entire life, ALL HERMIT CRABS NEED TO LIVE NEAR THE WATER TO SURVIVE.
Dwebble and Crustle do not live in the water or near it, hence they're not water type.

Why didn't GF make barrage grass or psychic so Exegutor could get STAB from it? Shit, they had five generations to fix that. Pokemon learn moves they don't get STAB from all the time.
