He started out mad and swearing revenge on galactic, then continued being mad and wanting revenge, then went out and got revenge and lived happily thereafter, the end. Was that a worthwhile arc? What a waste of a revenge-obsessed character.
He also really put you on the sidelines because your stonefaced blank slate can't be allowed to be involved or passionate or anything. Hugh would have been the best main character to play as, just taken as-is, and would have been maximum bestest if that involved decisions on how far to go in your wrath and how much your qt little sister means to you.
