Can there be no bad Pokemon? Farfetch'd is easily my favorite Pokemon but I don't think he needs any changes other than maybe giving him more moves. Another type doesn't make thematically sense, and an evo is uncalled for.

For Farfetch'd to not be absolutely worthless it either needs a STAB with +1 crit and 100+ BP or better stats.
It would need both of those things to be good.

I love Farfetch'd myself, but it's hard to find a use for it even in the main game.

There can and will inevitably be bad Pokemon competitively, but all Pokemon should at least be relatively usable in-game. If a Pokemon is just so bad that even using it in-game is a chore, something went wrong in the design process.

Thing is, there are a number of Pokemon that just exist as a joke. Farfetch'd is one of them.

Honestly, they could have very easily pulled a Magikarp => Gyarados sort of thing (though not with the same degree of growth) with Farfetch'd by giving it an evolution representing the duck that was either lucky enough or smart enough to not get eaten. I'm sure there's some pun you could make out of that concept.
