so I switch to my flying, fire, ice, or bug mons instead. grass is the easiest type to take out, they all have shitty defenses and there are a million ways to fuck them up that almost every Pokemon can learn.

Well obviously no one is going to keep out their water/flying against a strong electric attacker.

Either way, dragon tail helps gyrados' danger spots.

Why are you even trying? You can't list weaknesses to a typing and use that as the sole basis. It becomes from to grass and psychic.

BTW I can switch to a ground type and any point. I dont have to keep out gyrados.

Ferrothorn switches in. Waterfall doesn't do much and your contact moves harm you. Then leech seed to death after thunder waving her. Also Steel/Ghost, Steel/Fairy, Steel/Grass and Dragon/Steel are all better typings. Gyarados is cool mon though

Flying. The SE hits on fairy are better don't get me wrong, but Fairy doesn't have moves as strong as Brave Bird and its neutral coverage is pretty good. Not to mention how few rock types are actually playable.

I think what people don't realize is that it's not just the typing that's important, but the Pokemon itself that uses it and whether or not they have good stats and can actually, you know, be used.

Water/Flying IS one of the better type combos out there, with only 2 weaknesses (although one of those is a quad) and 1 immunity but only 3 resistances. But really, Gyarados is the only water/flying type that is worth using. Wingull and Pelipper are just meh and Mantine is unfortunately overshadowed.
