Drampa is fucking horrifying, so is Mudsdale. What the fuck, man.

Gen 7 looks pretty promising to be honest. I love Alolan forms the most and all the new fairymons. Could do without the new type moves gimmick to be honest. But I never like gimmicks like that.

Really liking most of the designs. The bigger emphasis on new abilities is nice too. I don't particularly care about z-moves, but they're okay I guess.
Regional forms are a way better idea than mega-evolutions to revisit the older designs. I hope they keep with it in the future and that it isn't just limited to Alola (but somehow I know it will).

The game looks way too easy and linear though. I'm still on the fence whether I'll buy it or not.

You see that the designs are changing to keep up with the popularity of other franchises and certain trends. It makes sense that they have to keep re-inventing themselves but there's some designs there that are very different from what we've see from pokemon in the past .

It was looking like a good gen a ton of new pokemon I liked, then we go alpha forms. And now it's turns out it may only be for gen 1. I hate gen 1 pandering so this depends. Plus I hate when gamefreak gets lazy and only rehashes old pokemon and reduces the amount we would get

Z-Moves are shit in execution, new Pokemon lineup is mostly weak whether they're brand new or Alola forms, no more HMs is bittersweet though more sweet than bitter, the graphical jump is nice but doesn't make a big difference to me, Trial Captains are either a twisted but still cool version of what I asked for in XY's Club Nintendo survey or a big fat mess depending on how it's approached, and nothing else stands out.

The others you have a point. Carnivine, the 2 fish, and Cherrim's sunshine form are Stantler tier.

More than just likely trivalizing Totem Pokemon and aces in single player, they'll probably be worthless in competitive with the item slot better used on a Mega or regular stat boosting item, and the long-ass over the top animations and tacky title cards feel out of place for Pokemon.

Judging from Gen VI, maybe the last Totem in the game. Even then with the one and done nature of them you'll still have several left to keep fighting with no worry of it. And knowing shit Pokemon AI it'll probably either be way too conservative about using it or it'll be way too easy to bait the AI into popping it.

It definitely feels that way to me. The Gen VII designs we've seen so far look like they could easily be added to the Unova dex and fit right in - they have a very similar style and feel imo.

So I guess I shouldn't be surprised that I dislike them for the most part, given there's very few Unova Pokemon I actually like. Big disappointment after how great the Kalos dex was.
