This has never been what concerned me, and it shouldn't be what concerns anyone. Regardless, though, it seems that winning the league is all that's important to anyone. Of this, I have nothing to say and it's no wonder everyone is in a tizzy. I don't understand why they did it in this perspective, other than marketing execs that don't know what a plot is. I'm pretty sure they know the League is very important to people. Heck, they wouldn't have done this if they DIDN'T know. Why the flipping heck did they go with something they KNEW no one would understand? If you were going to cuck Ash, we would've still understood it if you just skipped the battle entirely. Literally nothing would be lost with the absence of the eps. By putting the battle in, you only make things harder for yourself. You either do something that people understand, but is less interesting, or you do something that people don't understand, but has more gravitas. I don't know what your goal was, but it plainly didn't matter to you, did it? Everyone will still buy merchandise and the games regardless of what the anime does. Why did you bother to begin with, then?
