It's not that much stuff for two volumes, Platinum was two and a half volumes with the majority of the first one being focused on the Sinnoh Battle Frontier and Kusaka still managed to cram the reappearence of Dialga, Palkia and Cyrus in the Distortion World, Giratina, Sird's Darkrai being released, Shaymin, Cresselia, Heatran, Charon and even Manaphy's egg (and Phione) from the Ranger manga in the rest of it.
