The major thing is Amiibo support letting you freely choose who's in the campsite with the cards, some sort of special support with figures including ones outside of the AC line, and a trailer park section with some new villagers including those added in HHD, but there's supposed to be more new stuff other than just what's related to the Amiibo support too. There's going to be a dedicated Nintendo Direct for it sometime soon.
I'm kinda hoping you might be able to get NPC villagers such as Lottie or Digby to move in as regular villagers if you have their cards.
