Is extremely retarded, the DNA taken from the fossils contains the power to CREATE Pokemon. Those old ass creatures HAD 'magical' as you would say abilities in which they harnessed in a lab. They evolved into this in nature, in the same way how they could have made a Sandshrew and it slowly evolve into an Alolan Sandshrew in nature. It went from basically nothing 'magical' potential to attaining Ice powers.
Like I said before, it's a fucking video game. Anything is possible, it doesn't have to fit some sort of REALISTIC Scientific mould that you are trying to create for yourself based off of real life. "EVIDENCE" Is not needed
