Hello fellow sutists, /sp/ here.

I'm buying a used 3DS and Pokemon X tomorrow, and I haven't played a Pokemon game since Gold when it came out.

How can I get the most out of my Pokemon experience?

if you want the same level of challenge definitely dont use the exp share, enjoy using new pokemon there will be a ton for you to choose from

This. You will get the exp. share fairly early on and it's on by default. If you're using a team of 6 or less, turn it off unless you want to be overleveled and the game to be a cake walk.

If you hadn't played a game since Gold/Silver, I'd recommend getting Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire instead. They're far better games with better characters, better music, and a better region.

Don't get a used 3DS if it's on 11.0 firmware. You won't be able to hack it to download games.
