Why is 7th gen Pokemon so fucking ugly?

Is it trying to top 5th gen in terms of worse designs? Because might just do that.

I used to really hate the 5th gen designs, but they really grew on me after I actually played the games. Now most of my favorite Pokémon come from gen 5.

if it was less rounded/more segmented like Kingler, along with darker colors itd look great
