The VC version changed encounter rates in places like Viridian Forest to make them less common.Doesn't change the fact that they're both the easiest games followed by Gen 2. Of course Gen 2 has that grind wall.

Not explaining elements to the player isn't difficulty it's just forcing them to run around in circle needlessly.

It's literally just being a child that made it feel difficult.
I would know, I'm old enough to have played the classic SNES RPGs that were actually hard and at first I didn't get what was so good about Pokemon because it was so simple then I dropped it until gen 3.
