>>28321547Yours is pretty close but I swapped around the bad and shit tier entries and here's why:
X and Y and ORAS are pretty bad, but I wouldn't throw them into shit tier, like DP. DP has one major disadvantage, being its third version is so superior, DP has no reason to exist with all its flaws that Platinum mostly fixed. Just for reference, Emerald is still better than R/S but the latter are still a decent enough choice as they handle about as well as Emerald to my knowledge. I could still enjoy R/S since I didn't care much for the battle frontier, but objectively, Emerald benefits more in the long run by having the BF than R/S do from not having it. Easy enough to understand.
I didn't enjoy X and Y much at all, but it did do a few things right. Trainer customization, Pokemon Amie, the masuda method for shinies, and improvements to breeding were all welcome changes in my book, despite not fully using them. They're actually pretty fortunate there is no "Z" third game on this ranking as some proper changes could have rendered them as pointless as DP is to Platinum. Gen VI was overall disappointing despite a few good changes, and that carries over to ORAS.
Unfortunately with ORAS, it fell short of the bar set by HG/SS in terms of remake quality. However, having the phys/special split, the DexNav, masuda method for shines, and breeding improvements of Gen VI does keep it a bit closer with it's better predecessor, Emerald than say DP's range between it and Platinum.
That's my reasoning. While X and Y and ORAS were disappointing, I wouldn't put that lower than pointless like DP became after Platinum.
>tl;drX/Y and ORAS = Disappointing
DP = Pointless
Being disappointing isn't as bad as being pointless.
