But yeah I don't really give a shit about a serious story in Pokemon and would rather have a simple urban fantasy adventure with some simple down to earth world building with little local problems in all the towns you go to that you can help with rather than some boogeyman bumbling team of nincompoops around every corner who eventually try to take over or destroy the world in some silly over-the-top way.

Idunno, SM seems to have the most lore since BW/BW2 but it also seems to be the comfiest region yet. So on one hand, maybe the main game isn't as chill as you'd like, but it's about as chill as most other pokemon games, and on the other hand, the post-game where you can just roam around and catch mons will be really nice and relaxing.

Because this is a game where there are dangerous monsters roaming everywhere and they're finally expanding on that in the sense that they can fuck you up easily.
Anything else is so fucking boring it's laughable anyone would like it.

I'm actually relieved. The plot looked as if it was going to be boring and basic as hell with just some non-threatening idiots driving it. What's the point of a game with a weak story? And why does everyone yell buzzwords like "psuedo-intellectual" and pretentious when that story wants to take itself a bit seriously? Shit like that is stifling from a writer's perspective. But maybe it's just a taste thing -- I know I couldn't play a game like Harvest Moon or Animal Crossing even if Pokemon were present
