Do you really think you're not stealing as well? You have rights as a content creator but you haven't created anything original. You just copied something from a game almost exactly.
A very similar situation happened with a cartoonist named andrew dobson tried to sell adventure time art he made without actually doing anything original.
If you art is a derivative work than you better do something original with it or otherwise you don't even have a real right to sell it at all.
