>Johto2nd route pokemon you have already found in the wild and the first somewhat decent pokemon, a scyther (and despite johto having 9 new bug pokes, it decides to use none of them) but, before the remake it had a terrible movepool
This goes on and on man, Johto gym leaders have bad teams, but they compensated by a lot of them having side quests to develop their characters (somethng gen1 and gen3 later refused to do), so no, they werent flawless.
