So there is likely going to be a captain of each type, four on each island which brings the count to sixteen, complete a trial and beat the Totem boss and get a Z-Move. Completing all the trials on that island will allow you to face the Kahuna of the island.

So who are going to be the odd type out.

Realistically and actually funnily enough, Guzma and Kukui were the ones who couldn't become Trial Captains. Only Pokemon we've seen with Guzma so far was Ariados, who's primary type is Poison. Only Pokemon we've seen with Kukui is Rockruff, who's Rock-type.

So those could be the missing types.

Dark-type will definitely be one of them, and likely learned from Guzma.

As for the other...Dragon, maybe? Though I could also see that just being a late-game one. I know some people think it'll be Poison, but they could pull a Koga and have the Poison-type trial captain be a ninja or something.

There's no way Melemele is getting 4 fucking trials, it's too small.

The big island could easily have 6-8 trials while Melemele only gets 2.

Somewhere along the line; either way with at least 18 different trials it's longer than any other game so far, and that's not even counting the Aether Foundation, Ultra Beasts, the Skulls, the Kahunas, the minigames; it's going to be a very full experience.

According to the rumors, the last two (Z-Crystals) ones would be with Team Skull... Well, the possibility got smaller, but either way, I see more sense having 4 trials per island totalizing 16 trials than having 1 or 2 more in one of them... but that may be just me.
