Overall, sinnoh, they feel like actual legends. But my favourites are mewtwo and groudon, gen III got pretty close to gen IV's legendaries' style

Kalos has my favorite main trio, but I also love all of Sinnoh's and Johto's. But I also love most of Hoenn's and a big chunk of Unova's. Kanto is just kind of there.

Sun and Moon looks good so far legend/mythical wise but I can't say I like Magearna much

Hoenn had the weather trio and regis, not to mention the space virus.

Sinnoh had the literal creators of the universe, also theres a lot to choose from so theres something for everyone.

Lugia/Ho-oh are GOAT and the pups are pretty qt. It wasn't the last gen before they started making more legendaries than were necessary, but it felt like the right amount to me.
