Changing stats significantly is not an option I guess. And a possible Alola Form aside I only see 5 viable options:
- Mega Evolution, obviously. This would be the safest and easiest way to transform Delibird into a competitive beast
- Regular Evolution. lots of potential, but more limited than a Mega Evo.
- A new hidden ability that gives it a useful niche. "Dazzling"(negating priority moves) and "Prankster" are good examples of game changer abilities for weak mons. Give him "Snow Warning", and along with Focus Sash, Stealth Rocks, Spikes and Toxic Spikes he becomes a diverse Set Upper.
Or a new Ability called "Secret Santa" or something that let's Deli put out two or three hazards in one turn!
- Create a new item specifically catered to Delibird. Think something like "Eviolite" that fixes Deli's stats or weaknesses.
- Create a move that will make Delibird worth using. Preferably something with a priority and a unique effect. Maybe an Ice Type Stealth Rock like move with +1 prio, only available to him. RIP, Dragonite, Salamence, Rayquaza, Landorus and co
