I liked the ability to play dress up and the roller skates were a nice touch. The environments were pretty to look at and you could actually get lost in the big city.

Kalos itself
The region had its own personality and feels more like an actual living breathing world with its own culture and history, and you can see it everywhere from the buildings to the npcs to the music, each town had its unique own flavor and the new features like customization helped you feel like you were a part of the world, not just playing in it

Improved breeding system.

What >>28376151 said about region. Kalos technically is somewhat dull and empty, but it feels very "comfy" thanks to music and many well designed places with distinct atmosphere. Also, I think the washed color palette really helped too.

I agree the areas are nice, but disagree with it feeling like a living breathing world. After the 4th gym non of the areas are very well connected. One minute you're in one environment and then you're in a completely different one. It certainly has variety, but quality suffered from it.

The 3D feature was a huge step up from its predecessors. But it's bound to happen. Unfortunately, it's not enough to compensate their shortcomings. Good thing we had OR/AS to somehow expand the online experience.

It was a fun game in a comfy region that was easily replayable thanks to pokebank. Also, all the little features (customization, Amie, trainer videos, tipping) really added to the region's comfiness and made it easier to play for long periods without getting burned out.
