Does anybody actually like electrode? it seems to be the go to pokemon for complainf about designs.

I like it for it's simplicity, though I think that it needs a Evo or at least a Mega to fill it out.

I hate the self destruction moves. Seeing that Electrode (and to a lesser extent, Smogon) are all about Explosion, I rarely use them.

Electrode should look different based on what ball you used to capture it. I swear that's all it needs to be somewhat likable. The only thing I like about it it's his speed stat, and that's a number, not the pokemon itself.

I used it in LeafGreen because most Gen 1 Electric types are shit design-wise, it was pretty decent

Hated at first but as I got into more JRPGs I looked at it as the Pokemon version of a mimic and started to like it

Also caught a shiny, took a few turns and it never used self-destruct even though it had it

I just want more forms based on the other balls

electrode is a pokemon from a bygone era of pokemon... he (and voltorb) is the pokemon version of a mimic. in that sense i like him but if you're one of those guys who is into /pokemon should be super realistic/ you might not be as in to him.
