'Cause that's the only thing Pokémon protagonists have never been able to bypass--a wall, or someone saying "you can't go here."
We'd use the Forretress, Bastiodon, Skarmory, Sableye, Blissey, Umbreon, etc. Family trees.
Each grunt would hold an "iron dome," which forces the battle style to be SET when battling them. The leader would get a "steel dome," which causes a team-wide Shadow Tag effect.
(Something I always liked about the Dinosaur King series was that your technologically-advanced opponents would cheat all the time with stuff like that.)
