You know Sugomori isn't doing the buckteeth, right? He just draws the designs he's given. The guy from X&Y who started it is the new artist. Sugimori is sitting S&M out, like Masuda.

It started in gen5 I believe.
Ohmura is responsible for the more moe designs you see on girls.

If you look at the bw2 official art and compare it to Sugimori art from bw1, it's easy to tell the difference between them two.

if it was ALREADY animated, they wouldn't MAKE a good animator, anon. they'd already be animating.

Just drawing things in an order doesn't necessarily make great animation.
