I love that backsprite, it's very dynamic.

On the other hand, the DP and BW Sandslash front sprite is absolutely horrendous, they fixed it in HG/SS and then promptly broke it again.

It was the opposite for me. Even if it looked weird, the very fact that they moved and weren't just staying still made me cum internally.
But mostly the full body backsprites. Those were an absolute godsend.

Its model on Colo/XD and Amie looks cool, but the always gliding animation made for flying battles ruins it, GF should have made them be like this on flying battles but on the ground use their Amie models.

I can't lie and say the full back sprites didn't make it difficult to go back to the earlier gens. The animations eventually got repetitive but a lot of the early game pokemon had really good ones. Of course, the vast majority of pre-gen V animations are ass, though. >>28407283

Right. It's funny how they actually remade the gen 3 sprites, it's pretty obvious that they were planning for the RSE remakes and messed up. Never underestimate GF's incompetence. A lot of the sprites are pretty good, too. Compare pic related to >>28405507.
