Pidgeot and Fearow are both fucking shit, do not get them! Catch Doduo instead, it learns Drill Peck at level 37 and Dodrio is incredibly strong. Tentacruel and Starmie are good choices for water-types as well, and Jynx is good if you want a dragon killer. Fire-types are pretty mediocre, but Vulpix is good because it has status moves.
