>>28415322>but there's absolutely no scientific evidence for the existence of only 2 gendersuh, if it's a "social construct" as you say, then there shouldn't be any scientific evidence for any gender at all considering it wouldn't physically exist. as it stands, though, gender is associated with sex, and there are two natural sexes, with the occasional error creating intersex people. either way, though, "gender" in this context is merely referring to physical differences in the male and female brain, and how these differences impact what most people of that sex do. keep in mind, however, that these aren't concrete: the power of upbringing and personal choice, as well as mental illness and past trauma, can all change behaviour as well. be that as it may, the structure of the brain, in this sense, is related to their sex, which is binary. when you say "gender is a construct" you may be thinking of gender /roles/, which are, in fact, a construct, though they are often chosen to supplement the biological reality.
>then the simple act of a /tumblr/ snowflake behaving according to their gender qualifies them for that gender.no, because tumblr's idea of gender either:
1) is their personality, not their gender. a man being shy, quiet, even feminine in some ways, doesn't make him trans, it just means he is a man who likes to partake in feminine things. much like a tomboy isn't trans either.
2) has nothing to do with their personality and is, rather, to do with bodily dysphoria, which isn't related to their personality or behaviour, and is purely related to them finding their body disgusting because an imbalance in their brain causes them to hate the fact that they are their sex, and they would prefer being the opposite sex. any type of person could be this way, and it has no inherent personality/behavioural requirements aside from the ones listed (though there often are similarities such as gender dysphoria being often comorbid with conditions such as depression).
