Sky Battles didn't ruin shit, they simply have flying animations for battle, and non-flying animations for Amie.

Sprites were posed the way they were to make up for having limited to no animation.

Models don't have that problem, so they don't need poses like that.

Yes, it's much better having them be lifeless and disinterested all the time except for 0.3 seconds while attack which you can't see most of the time.

It's not about standing still, it's about standing still while also looking like you're in the middle of a battle. Look at Bisharp for example: he looks like he's waiting in line at the cash register. If they gave his legs a wider base and had his arms doing something other than just being limp at his sides, this would be a perfectly fine pose.

Compare it with his pose in Gen V. He stood still, but it looked dynamic and like he was actually in a fight.

That one is just as bad, but at least its body has movement. The modified model should bob a bit, because nobody fucking stands 100% still and it completely breaks the animation of the model for the fur to be so fluid with movement while the body is as stiff as stone.

They don't compliment each other in the slightest.

Just because they need to be functional doesn't meant they shouldn"t have dynamic poses, both are compatible. All they need is a pose the attack animations can start from, the pose itself could use some improvement as far as some pokemon are concerned.

Not sure if it's exactly bad but the ones done here make the vanilla ones pale in comparison except Typhlosion, it's not supposed to have its flames constantly out.

Typhlosion having its flames out during a battle makes sense. It makes him more intimidating to his opponents. Birds, snakes and airplanes do essentially the same thing, make themselves look bigger or scarier in the face of danger or a challenge. Typhlosions just sitting there makes no sense much like the majority of gen 6 models

You can download a bunch of models from the modellers resource page, with their skeletons. Then you just animate them. Most of the ones in this thread come from one poster on Smogon.

Salamance is floating out of battle even less than Garchomp, what are you talking about?

Being in the air isn't the issue here. The gliding forward in place is. Stuff like Butterfree is fine. But a lot of people like Mega Salamence's design a ton more once you show them this is what it looks like if it's not endlessly floating.
