Might be a dumb question but: I want to finish the PokeDex in Gen 5. Is there anyway to do this without a Gameshark? I tried using the GTS DNS method, but that seems to no longer work due to Nintendo's servers being shut down?

What are my options? Finding a Gameshark? Glitches?

Literally impossible now without hacks...which includes the free option of 3ds homebrew

Won't run on 3DS and won't trade with a legit cart, right?

I mean it's an option but I have the legit cart sitting here that I want to finish the Dex on because autism. :(

I am in the middle of trying to do this on my legit Pokemon Black 2. Luckily I have a flashcart and another DS. I am going to trade over any pokemon that can't be obtained. I had to do the same for my Gen IV diamond. It's cheating but they took away the way to be able to complete the Pokedex.

I got a GBA M3 Lite that I could use. But the MicroSD card went bad or something and the hardware is from WinXP-era to put things on, so I haven't bothered to try to "fix" it. I'm not even sure it's possible to fix. But if it is, I guess I could go that route and finish the Dex up.

I have the same goal. I bought Alpha Sapphire 2 days ago even though I've been casually inching my way to complete with HG, SS, White 1, and Black 2 for years.

I learned the other day that Stunky and Glameow are Diamond and Pearl exclusives. Haven't reappeared until gen 6 so I would have failed eventually.

You'll only be able to catch the Pokemon in your game, and you'll help from other games to fill out the rest.

You'd have to start playing Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed, LeafGreen, Emerald, Pearl, Diamond, Heartgold, SoulSilver, Black, White, and finally White 2 and transfer the Pokemon you don't have in your Pokemon game into Black 2. It'll be a long and costly adventure, and you'll have to grind many hours to do this with the WFC shutdown. Thankfully event Pokemon are not required for the reward you get at the end.
