Generation 4 was fantastic. Heart Gold and Soul Silver were both extremely well done remakes. I've spent over 1,000 hours in Pokémon Battle Revolution, I had fun with Pokémon Rumble, I spent many a night trying to fill my Pokémon Ranch. Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky are some of my favorite games in the franchise; heck, maybe even of all time.

Generation 4 may have been the best generation of Pokémon. Generation 4 did NOT suck. Diamond and Pearl sucked. Platinum was okay. Sinnoh was just a shit region all-around. But the generation as a whole was phenomenal.

Contrast Generation 5, where the spin-offs were all atrocious and the Unova games were God-tier.
