I think it's safe to say Sandslash will probably get at least a couple ground moves. Hopefully Ninetales can still get some fire type moves through breeding, that'd be really cool, but I'm doubtful.

When your speed is only 65, lowering it isn't even a negative, as you shouldn't be looking to outspeed opponents even at 80 speed nowadays.

Lowering the speed just makes gyro ball more powerful, and hopefully that speed will be totally minmaxed into attack or something

If Steel types are switching in on these guys with ease, they're easily threatened to just die and do little work, considering the meta is centered on Steel.

The only thing I can see is a new ability, Solid Ice and block Physical attacks. This way it only has to worry of Fire types cause there aren't that many special Ground users and the only special Fighting move used for coverage is Focus Miss and Aura Sphere already has bad distribution.

Anon, Game Freak will never care about whether a Pokémon being competitively viable. They greenlit Mega Audino and thought people would prefer special M-Salamence to physical despite it having a physical movepool and a higher Attack stat than Sp.Atk. They don't know or care about competitive.
