There is only one thing I'd like above everything else - an experience point blocking item. The Everstone only stops evolution but doesn't block experience points from leveling up said pokemon.

If you battle at levels 25 or 50 instead of 100, you might want to use the pokemon in game without it leveling up and no longer useful for it.

It's the only thing, really.

Yet how do you stop exp gain on the active battling pokemon aside from running away before fainting the challenger?

Why exactly would you want your Pokemon to not level up? You do realize battle facilities and online matches just preset your Pokemon back to level 50, right?
