Out of curiosity, how much time does it usually take to datamine a game the size of pokemon? What I mean is, when will we feasibly know the pokemon's BST, the mythical mons, and other hidden stuff after the game releases?

iirc x and y took a while since they were on a new console, but oras was done pretty much immediately. sun and moon seem to just be using an upgraded version of the gen 6 engine so i wouldn't expect it to take long at all

That's not correct at all.
First, the GRAPHICAL engine is completly different, Masuda confirmed it in an interview.

And now, the Pokémon data structures are completly unrelated to the engine, and they always change a lot. So for these games they will need to decipher that, however, there are really good people in the Pokemon/3DS scene, so it shouldn't take too long

i'm glad the fight against piracy lasted as long as it did into the 3DS' lifetime. if only it was still nearly impossible as not to spoil anything else in the game

it's a miracle we got to experience X and Y for so long without datamining and discovering things like Hoopa
