Well back in 2010 I had just gotten Pearl for my 14th birthday and I brought it to school to play with my friends. Of course, since it had been 3 years since it came out at this point, all of them had already beat it. One of my friends offered to show me his mons he had collected throughout his playthrough, and Leafeon was one of the ones that caught my eye based on how it cute it looked and its adorable cry.
I asked him how I could get one, and he traded me an Eevee before telling me about the Moss in Eterna Forest.
I evolved it and treasured it ever since, especially since the friend that traded that Eevee to me died of cancer a few years later.
So for me, Leafeon isn't just a cute mon, I also see my friend and think back to that kind gesture he did for me.
RIP you bastard, I still cry about it sometimes.
