*this isn't the end of my storey*
I slowly shift back into my human form,. The transformation is a bit painful, but I endure it for my lady. Animal control stands in awe, their mouths wide open at the spectacle unfolding in front of them. As the last of my claws recede into my hands I turn to face them.
"Fellow humans, I mean you no harm. That young girl I was chasing is my girlfriend, Lillie. She's scared, and I need to find her. Will you let me?"
The animal control officers nod and step aside. I confidently move past them, eyes on the forest ahead of me. My flower is out there, frightened and alone, and I caused it. How can I even live with myself after this? After just a few minutes I find her sitting at the edge of a short drop, head in her hands. Tears drip from her face to the ground below.
"Lillie!"
She turns, but the sight of me makes her only more afraid.
"Go away! You're not the boyfriend I fell in love with! Get away, you... you monster!"
"No, Lillie! It's just a power I have, granted to me by the same people that gave you yours..."
She gasps, shock visible on her face.
"How... how do you know?"
"In my wolf form I can sense any abnormalities. You... you're like me..."
She stands, holding her palms to the sky. A brilliant light fills the air, and she begins to rise into the air. After a few moments the light fades, and a large, jellyfish-like creature floats where Lillie once did.
"This is me, my beloved. Join me?"
I turn back into my wolf form, and together we travel into a dimensional rift. We're together at last...
