People on this board at this VERY moment ACTUALLY believe that Mega Evolutions won't be returning in Sun and Moon. These people actually exist.

This right here is why Megas are still going to be in the game, and new ones are likely as well-- Because you can't use a Z-Move with a Mega that isn't Rayquaza.

To clarify, my reasoning is that Megas don't contradict Z-Moves at all, so there's no reason to remove Mega Evolution.

Since the process is similar (Need an item, need the bracelet, once per battle), my guess is you'll be able to use Z-Moves during the story and won't be able to use Mega Evolution until post-game when you get the National Dex.

You'll probably get Sina and Dexio giving you the Zygarde cube relatively early then they leave and say they're doing some sightseeing or something and then after you beat the game you'll find them having finished their sightseeing and congratulate you on all the work you put into collecting cells and give you a Mega Bracelet as a reward or something.
