>>28519807>Different BSTsDragonite's BST is way beyond what anything in the entire game could have at level 50, excepting special super monsters. Which is just Lugia/Ho-Oh since I think Entei etc. are 580
>abilities>gen 2And no, the boundaries of the game do not allow for Dragonite to have Barrier, or Aerodactyl to have Rock Slide.
These are special powers the player cannot use. But you mean cannot use AT ALL, things that exist only for that boss rather than combinations that don't exist?
>Doesn't test the player in any wayum
What?
The entire Elite 4 is an Attrition test; Can your 6 Pokemon at most handle a gauntlet of nearly 30 boss-level 'mons? And then the final boss whips out a small army of Dragonites. This is every bit a boss as any standard FF boss is.
It doesnt count because they dont have fudged HP bars numbering well into the 4-digits? Is that what you mean?
>>28519883>skills you've learned up to that pointAnd Pokemon is a test of type matchups. Against most trainers it wont matter because they dont have the strength or moves to need to worry about it. But against someone with a full team of fully evolved monsters with varying movesets, knowledge of the Pokemon's typings and weaknesses (not just whats SE, I mean like how Gyarados' Rain Dance triggers perfect-accuracy Thunder, or how it has a lower Defense stat so a physical attack deals more damage than Special ones, etc.) to overcome them.
Sure you can beat them by just grinding but, is there any RPG that you cant, other than bosses designed to appear at level 91+? Pokemon's never had enemies at that high level before, unless you count Wally.
