In 2010ish he won an award for game design and did an interview with Namco.
I believe in 2014 he won a couple of other awards for achievement in videogames with Masuda and Sugimori and was in some GameFreak promo shots in their office.
Sometime around the time of X/Y (A bit before) Masuda did an open interview/Q&A at an event in Japan about the long term future of the franchise and someone asked about Tajiri, Masuda said he doesn't do much in the development of the games but works with the battle director and has a decent amount of input on the competitive aspect of the metagame.
And yes, he still looks super young. He hasn't changed much if at all since that picture from 2007 with the DS in his hands.
