The way they see it, humans make pokemon fight for their own selfish reasons and they get hurt because of that. Therefore, UBs will use any means necessary to take pokemon away from humans.
This is why Lillie (jellyfish) dislikes pokemon battles, and Gladion (buffsquito) doesn't want you to get your mons hurt for no reason.
