Dear /ekx/ bros, I am somewhat in a bind, need some advice:
I've a 9.2 3DS, aka the super old build that allows for easy injecting without installing any custom firmware or homebrew etc. However it's old as heck, and I've been preventing any software updates on it since ORAS by turning off the wireless.
It's really good for traditional injecting, but the problem is that I can't get online at all and have no access to my pokebank. It used to be that I can turn on the internet briefly in order to do so, but now it requires a system update to use bank. This means that I can no longer transfer injects into my bank UNTIL I am sure that I have everything ready, and am ready to do a system update to get online access again.
The main problem is that I want to get a new 3ds console and system transfer to it so I can access the bank. But this means that the old 3ds console has to be updated as well in order to perform the sys transfer, and would lose access to injections.
So what is the best course of action in order to preserve the old build yet get access to the pokebank? I don't think there's a way. It seems that the best options are
a) Get all I need, update old system, transfer to new console.
b) Keep old, play SM on new, lose access to bank.
c) Some other better options you guys can think of?
