It was always a bullshit pokemon but people were too busy downplaying everything Alan did by saying Malva took it easy or Alan cheated to realize they were setting up Tobias 2.0 - a powerful opponent who'll beat Ash but with a backstory. Which is funny because they also hyped up everything Ash did to high heaven. The moment they saw this in the preview, they all basically wanked it to absurd levels.
