Would be a good idea for selling Kanto remakes but then what about the Johto remakes you'd want to do afterwards? You're missing out on selling double the amount of games basically which makes it a bad idea financially.
Something that would be especially crazy is a set of two games where 1 version starts in Kanto and the 2nd starts in Johto and thus are reversed versions of each other with the other region as post game.
